Hanging in there

We're waiting for our fingerprinting appointment, which is 3/28. After that we are assuming we will be approved to move forward with Kingston's adoption. From there we send our dossier to China and the official wait begins. Yes, the official wait begins as if what we've been doing thus far hasn't been considered a wait. I will never cease to be amazed at the amount of red tape and paperwork involved in international adoption. To be fair, it is done in the best interest of children, however, the timliness of such bureacracy is sometimes not. I say sometimes because although I am anxious to bring Kingston home I don't expect that something as serious as bringing a child home will happen overnight. Although sometimes I wish it was the case. But at the end of the day, we have a lot of work to do for Kingston's arrival. So we'll take this time to buy a dresser, a bed, prepare Everest, have fun, prepare Everest, enjoy the summer and prepare Everest who has said on more than one occassion when confronted with the idea of going to China, "But Moooooom (said in a few octaves) dat is a loooong (said in few octaves) drive." Certainly is kid but well worth it.

The Event

Once again I am humbled by the kindness of others. We are blessed beyond words. We have an amazing family. We have wonderful friends. I am finding it hard to put it all into words. That is likely because words cannot describe how incredible the night was. It was almost like a wedding. A night of monumental importance in our lives. I feel life is measured in snapshots of memories and this night will never be forgotten. It is times like this where you realize how lucky you are to have who you do in your life. We have so many people who love us, who care about us and who came out to show us that. Simply unbelievable. They say that adoption is not for the weak of heart. This is true, but I also feel that adoption makes your heart stronger. We are forever thankful.

Pictures coming soon!
